Advancing the Path Toward Excellence
In early 2014, The University of Connecticut embarked on updating its campus master plan to drive transformative change. The plan looks at buildings, land, open space, and infrastructure systems to provide the framework for advancing the aspirations and development goals of the institution and its Academic Vision. This comes at a critical moment when a comprehensive and integrated plan can optimize this opportunity, and create an environment where ideas, imagination and creativity can flourish.
Through a focus on supporting STEM education and growing the research enterprise at UConn, the State of Connecticut is investing more than $1.54B in campus development over the next ten years through the Next Generation Connecticut program. This investment will transform the campus in every aspect of academic and student life, and advance the environmental sustainability of the campus.
The new Campus Master Plan is the vehicle that will drive this transformative change with an emphasis on excellence, community, inspiration and innovation.
